About  CASP, Cal Poly Pomona

The Collaborative After School Project (CASP) at the College of  Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS), California State  Polytechnic University, Pomona (CPP), has been providing training and  technical assistance in the school-age care and after school field in  California for the past decade. (CASP previously operated out of the  University of California, Irvine and moved to Cal Poly Pomona in  2003). The Project is dedicated to fostering developmentally-oriented  learning experiences for children and youth during the after school  hours. CASP works collaboratively with public and private  organizations throughout Los Angeles County and the state of  California to support the success and long-term sustainability of  current programs, and help establish new programs. To this end, CASP  developed a series of curriculum and program resources for the Child  Development Division of the California Department of Education that  are currently in the process of publication at CDE. Over the past six  years, through a contract with Los Angeles County Office of Education  (LACOE),  CASP has formed part of the Region XI Los Angeles County  After School Support Team.  Working in partnership with LACOE, CASP- CPP provides a variety of staff development opportunities for the  field in collaboration with other after school leadership in the region.
