Graded assignments will be accepted without penalty at any time on or before their due date. Graded assignments which are submitted after their due date will have their score reduced by 5(n+1)%, where n is the number of school days properly between the due date and the date submitted.

The course will cover the topics in chapters 1 and 5--7 of Tannenbaum, with emphasis on the TCP/IP reference model, and protocols and applications used in the Internet. Chapters 5--7 will be covered in reverse, from the top of the TCP/IP reference model (the application layer) downward (through the transport and network layers). The course will largely be a case study of the Cal Poly Pomona Intranet, and homeworks will be exercises using the Intranet tools.
