CaPSET has been active in solar and electric vehicle research, development, and demonstrations since 1989. From 1989 through 1995, CaPSET was heavily involved in developing and racing solar vehicles. Since that time, members of the team have been involved in helping other teams (Los Altos High School as an example) develop solar vehicles and in organizing, improving and officiating the "brain sport" of solar car racing.

This web site gives a brief history of CaPSET and the vehicles that were developed here. Also discussed are a sampling of the other activities that the team was involved in and the educational outreach that resulted from these activities.

The activities were great educational experiences for all involved and many bonds were formed between the team members, faculty, sponsors and the university. Each year since the cessation of development activities, the team has held a reunion to help maintain those contacts and bonds. The Alumni Activities section of this site show excerpts from those reunions.
