What Does It Do?
Bronco411 provides the horsepower behind these services:
- Cal Poly Pomona Phone Book
- Bronco411 Search
- Information Operators Search
It provides directory information to:
- The Exchange Global Address Book
- PeopleSoft (office phone numbers only)
- LDAP and Active Directory (in case you wondered...)
It also plays an important role in:
- Online Student Evaluation of Teaching
- BallotBox
- and a number of lesser-know applications
It is the authoritative source for:
- Display names
- Office fax numbers
- Office locations
How does it work?
Bronco411 consists of:
- a database (technically an Oracle schema, consisting of a number of data tables inside a larger database) containing names and directory information
- a group of web applications that provide search and update
- a group of automated programs that add new people from identity management and that send directory information back to identity management and other applications
