Neotropical Rainforest
The tropical habitats of North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean are often called the neotropics, the tropics of the "New World". Many well-known plants of commerce come from the neotropics, including chocolate, vanilla, rubber, allspice, tapioca, pineapples, Brazil nuts, and the sources of many drugs, including quinine and cocaine.
