The Biological Sciences Department seeks to fill two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions starting Fall 2002:
Evolutionary Biologist with the ability to teach undergraduate Evolution, Population Genetics, and Biometrics. Teaching will include will include shared responsibility for Evolution and Biometrics, as well as a senior-level course in Population Genetics, and other courses in the area of specialty. A research focus on organisms and processes is desired, and candidates specializing in botany, herpetology, invertebrate zoology, or mammalogy will meet other departmental needs as well. Neurophysiologist who is able to combine molecular biology and modern optical methods in addressing basic questions in neuroscience. Teaching responsibilities may include a human physiology course, contributions to other physiology, neuroscience, and cell biology courses as well as the development of additional neuroscience courses in area of specialty. Our 35 member faculty offers B.S. degrees in five areas and M.S. degrees to a total enrollment of 800 students. All departmental faculty may be expected to teach introductory biology courses.
