Admission to Biological Sciences Department Graduate Program is determined by the members of the Graduate Faculty, and is based on the total academic record of the applicant. Applications will be screened by interested Graduate Faculty members, who will advise the Graduate Coordinator when an applicant qualifies for admittance. Potential applicants are encouraged to contact members of the Graduate Faculty to discuss research interests, available space, and qualifications. The Graduate Faculty member who sponsors the admission of a student will provide initial advising, but it will be the responsibility of the student to secure a thesis advisor. Admission to the program is competitive, and applicants must have a sponsor to be admitted. Therefore, it is important that all applicants develop contacts with the Graduate Faculty.

The Admissions Office web site should be examined to determine deadlines, and to obtain contact information for that office.
