The Multi-Agency Rocky Intertidal Network (MARINe), with member Dr. Jayson Smith of the CPP Biological Sciences department, was honored with the 2012 U.S. Department of the Interior's Partners in Conservation award. MARINe is a long-term monitoring program, consisting of 38 collaborators spanning most of the west coastline, whose goal is to examine the health and ecological dynamics of rocky intertidal ecosystems. The award recognizes the partnership among federal, state and tribal governments, local agencies, universities, and private groups dedicated to the study and management of rocky intertidal shoreline habitats.
