Welcome-to CPP's Biodiesel Group

As the world petroleum reserves diminish, atmospheric green house gases rise and oil prices hover at $100 per barrel, alternative renewable liquid fuels are actively sought to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and to mitigate current levels of CO2 emissions. Biodiesel is a renewable alternative to petrodiesel that is produced from vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled restaurant grease. The Biodiesel group at Cal Poly is a multidisciplinary team of engineers, chemists, biologists, agronomists and others interested in regenerative processes to solve this crisis.
