The Cal Poly Pomona Astronomy program allows students to pursue fundamental questions about our universe both in classes and through student research.  In particular, the California-Arizona Minority Partnership for Astronomy Research and Education (CAMPARE) program gives students the chance to participate in paid summer research projects in Astronomy, Planetary and Space Science, and Astrobiology at the University of Arizona, the SETI Institute and JPL/Caltech.  Click the images below to learn more about this exciting student research program. University of Arizona Steward Observatory



Travel to Tucson to participate in cutting-edge astronomy research at Steward Observatory, one of the top research observatories in the world. Each summer, CAMPARE sends students to work with Steward Observatory astronomers visiting telescopes in the nearby mountains, studying stars in the act of forming, observing "supernova imposters," and more. Astrobiology and the Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence (SETI)



Study extreme forms of life on Earth that may give clues about life's origins, participate in the search for life elsewhere in the solar system, or help build a radio telescope to search for signals from alien civilizations. All of these are part of the field of Astrobiology, the study of the origin, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe.
