Our mission is to achieve excellence in education that
serves the unusual diversity and global representation present in the
student population of the Southern California community. The educators
of the Art Department are dedicated to:
1.
Fostering a global awareness inherent in the education of our particular
population.
2.
Promoting a sense of community beyond the immediate creative environment.
3.
Creating a broad base of knowledge to support conceptual and technological
developments.
4.
Building a foundation of creativity to support self-expression and individual
intellectual development while meeting career goals as well as curriculum
structure for a competitive student body.
5.
Creating an awareness of the cultural diversity reflected in the learning
experience and the teaching pedagogy. The department is part of the College
of Environmental Design on a university campus with a wide scope of offerings

Upon entry into the Art Department, a student is assigned a faculty advisor. This faculty member will assist with questions about curriculum, registration, and academic policy. Each faculty member keeps posted weekly office hours (these posted hours are located just outside the Art Department office as well as on each faculty member's office door). If you have questions about curriculum or any academic policy and your advisor does not know the answer, he or she will direct you to the proper department/person. The department chair is also available to help when other avenues have not been successful.
After 3rd Class meeting there will be no refunds for the class material fee. No exceptions.
