The Cal Poly Pomona Agricultural Research Initiative (ARI) program
is proud to present its 9 th Annual Research Showcase on
Thursday, November 12 th from 3-6 p.m.
at the AGRIscapes Center (Building 211).
The showcase will feature ARI-sponsored scientists and research projects from the
Cal Poly Pomona campus.
The event will provide an opportunity to learn about the research being conducted by faculty, staff and students to improve agriculture in California . The showcase will include oral and poster presentations by ARI Researchers and students.
Dr. David Still, Cal Poly Pomona ARI Campus Coordinator, believes “Many think the ARI program is only for the College of Agriculture . In fact, we support faculty and students across all colleges at Cal Poly Pomona – as long as their research has the potential to improve and sustain California agriculture. Another surprise is that all of our research is highly technical, not traditional “cows and plows” research that often is associated with agriculture. We give our students in-depth training which makes them competitive for jobs and attractive to graduate schools”.
California is, by far, the nation's leading producer and exporter of agricultural products. To benefit the state's agriculture industry and consumers, the Agricultural Research Initiative sponsors research in applied agricultural research. Through a competitive grant program, it provides public funds that are matched by industry or federal research resources to support high-impact agricultural research development and technologies that are readily transferable to industry.
