Are you interested in a research internship? Do you plan to go to graduate school? Do you want to earn a PhD? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the McNair Scholars Program can help you reach your goal.

The McNair Scholars Program helps low-income and first-generation students or underrepresented students prepare for graduate school. Scholars work with afaculty mentor, do research, and learn the ins and outs of applying to graduate school.

You are eligible for the program if you are:

· A low-income (please refer to eligibility chart on website) AND first-generation collegestudent (parents have not received a BA degree or equivalent);

· Or underrepresented in your field of study at the doctoral level (African American, Chicano/Latino, or Native American);

· Must have completed at least 90 units by the end of Spring Quarter 2013 and still have 60 core/support units to complete;

· Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

How to apply for the research internship:

· Visit the program website at to read FAQ and information on the application process.

· Download the eligibility form. The eligibility form is due no later than Monday, March 11, 2013 at 4pm. We recommend submitting the eligibility formearlier to provide more time to complete the application.

· Bring completed eligibility form to the McNair Scholars Program Office, located in Building 8, Room 306. Once your eligibility has been established, you will be given an application. Applications are due nolater than Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 4pm.
