First of Student Designed Houses Completed in Haiti

The first of the houses for Haiti Reconstruction Project has been completed with plans for 25 more to be completed in the next 2 months. The house was designed and prototyped by CPP architecture students under the direction of Assistant professor Juintow Lin and Associate professor Michael Fox. Development efferts are carried out with Pacific Green Innovations of Portland, OR. The house is constructed with a unique corrugated paper panel which is manufactured in Haiti. A pre-fab manufacturing facility is completely operational in Haiti which allows the projects to be one of the very few in Haiti to be constructed completely with local labor and with very few imported materials. The final price of the house is $8,000 USD.
