Preparing graduates to make an immediate impact in the workforce has been a hallmark of Cal Poly Pomona. Over the past few years, I have met thousands of alumni and corporate friends who boast about the impact of our educational model. It is clear that universities can make all the difference in the world in our economy, by producing the types of professionals who can jump start our recovery.

None of our success would be possible without the generous support of our donors. They are the unknown heroes to our students, committing funds to scholarship accounts and endowments. For many students, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, a college education would be unattainable without that support. The state also depends on these graduates to fill critical positions in education, math, engineering and the environmental sciences. Giving to higher education is really investing in the future of California.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your generosity. These are exciting times at Cal Poly Pomona, and your contributions are advancing new opportunities for our students. Please know that you are truly making a difference.
