Professor Heimler is the president of the Walter Heimler Company, a global manufacturer with distribution to major retailers in the United States and abroad. He is also the designer of the company's Cool Stuff® brand of tween products and the creator of the company's e-comic, The GlamrGurlz® http://www.glamrgurlz.com.
Professor Heimler brings more than 25 years of executive level management, entrepreneurial and innovative experience in global sourcing, marketing, and product development to Cal Poly. His management philosophy is to develop customer specific products through global trend-spotting and sourcing. He has been editorialized in numerous trade publications and has won the Target Vendor of the Year Award in 1985 and 1994.
In addition to his position of lecturer in the Apparel Merchandising and Management department of the College of Agriculture , Professor Heimler also serves as adjunct faculty in the management department at LIM College in New York and the marketing department at Long Island University .
