University is hosting a free orientation session from
6:30 to 8 p.m. Participants will hear an overview of
the new IT course curriculum and can meet with instructors
to discuss the new flexible format certificate programs.

Fine Art Auction to Help Literacy Program
September 24 The Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center will feature its first Literacy Through the Arts Auction of fine art to help raise funds for its outreach programs as well as scholarships for low-income families. More than 40 pieces will be offered from artists including R. Kenton Nelson, Paul Soldner, Michael Aschenbrenner, Steve Tobin, FR. Edge Culinary Arts Class
October 7 The College of the Extended University is offering a new culinary arts class that will give students the cutting edge. The new knife skills course will be from 10 a.m. to noon in the demo auditorium at the Collins School of Hospitality Management. Participants will learn knife selection and handling skills. Matt's Run
October 14 Volunteers and runners are needed for this event, which celebrates the life of Matthew Myers, a student who lost his life in an accident on campus in 2005. Matt was an avid runner, and the Run/Walk in his honor is designed to bring the community together to keep his memory and passion alive while raising money for scholarships.
