Franco?
As
a
policy
consultant
on
the
Public
Employees
Retirement
System
and
Veteran's
Affairs,
Franco
works
for
the
Senate
Republican
Caucus
in
Sacramento
and
insists
there
is
no
typical
day.
"It depends on the legislature," she says. "It
depends on deadlines. I look at the daily file
and see if we have any hearings or floor sessions
and, if so, what bills are going to be heard

2004-05 President's Council Scholars Honored
Cal Poly Pomona recognizes outstanding
student achievement through the President's Council
Scholars program. Considered the most prestigious
scholarship series at the university, President's
Council Scholarships have been awarded to 20
undergraduate and four graduate students, who
represent each of the academic colleges.

School Students Help Raise Money to Support
Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County
Hospitality Management students
used their classroom knowledge to make a difference
in the community on Oct. 7. The 49 students in HRT
281: Professional Cooking Lecture and Lab hosted
a booth and volunteered at the Food, Wine, and
Micro-Brew Festival at South Coast Plaza in Costa
Mesa. The event raised an estimated $65,000 for
the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Read
