The 52nd Annual Commencement Ceremony is just around the corner and we will celebrate our largest class – more than 3,000 students. This edition of Poly @lumni features eight extraordinary graduates honored April 25 at the 48th Annual Distinguished Alumni Awards event. Free Performance at Downtown Center

The House Guest from Xinjiang
May 28 – The Asia & Pacific Islander Student Center and the Theatre Department invite all alumni to take a glimpse into our ever-changing multicultural world in a staged reading of “The House Guest from Xinjiang,” a new play by C.Y. May 30 – The spotlight will be on the College of Engineering as it celebrates 50 years of hands-on learning and looks toward the future of engineering education at Cal Poly Pomona. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with a VIP reception at the W. Keith and Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery, followed by an anniversary dinner. Read More…

52nd Annual Commencement
June 13-15 – Cal Poly Pomona’s 52nd Annual Commencement will take place over a period of three days in the University Quad. Alumni and friends are invited to attend in person, or view the pomp and circumstance online. For a schedule of ceremonies visit www.csupomona.edu/commencement.

Career Success Conference 2008 – “Be the Candidate of Choice!”
June 18 – This day-long conference will connect graduates with employer-presented workshops, resume critiques, food, fun, business etiquette, networking, a job fair and more. It may be the best $10 you will ever spend! For more information contact the Career Center at (909) 869-2344.

Alumni Association Annual Meeting

ASI Summerfest

After four months of information gathering and speaking with thousands of Cal Poly Pomona faculty, staff, students and alumni, President Michael Ortiz unveiled a new campus vision and core values that better reflect the university's unique identity. Lundstrom Named CSU Alumnus Advocate of 2008
Noted architect and Cal Poly Pomona alumnus Jon Lundstrom was recently named a California State University 2008 Alumnus Advocate of the Year. With close to 2 million alumni in its ranks, the CSU has one of the largest networks of advocates in the country, with Cal Poly Pomona accounting for more than 105,000 alumni. Read more...

Gala Yields Tasty Proceeds for University
Nearly 550 university friends and alumni attended an unforgettable springtime gala May 4 in support of education. The event netted approximately $300,000. Promoted as "an adventure of tastes, sights and sounds," Cal Poly Pomona's inaugural Southern California Tasting & Auction did not disappoint any of the senses. Read more...

A home can be insulated with recycled plastic bottles, PVC pipe and a green roof. It may not be conventional. But a group of professors and an assemblage of students have found that the inexpensive design could be the solution to bolster the quality of life in impoverished communities in Mexico.
