Music Master Class Presented by Guest Artist Susan Egan
May 16 – Critically acclaimed performer Susan Egan presents a master class from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Music Building, Room 191. Having traversed all four corners of the entertainment industry, Egan has made powerful impressions in theatre, film, television and music. Read more.

Hospitality Leaders Part of Distinguished Lectureship Series
May 16 and 30 – Club and wine experts address "Issues in the Hospitality Industry in the Coming Decade" as part of the Richard N. Frank Lectureship Series. Read more...

ACT II Showcasing Student Talent
May 19 – The Interdisciplinary General Education Student Organization presents ACT II, a showcase of IGE student talent, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center. 50th Annual Commencement
June 9-11 – Cal Poly Pomona's 50th Annual Commencement will take place over three days in the University Quad. Alumni and friends are invited to attend in person or view the pomp and circumstance online. To view the schedule of ceremonies, visit the official commencement website.

Alumni Association Annual Meeting
June 15 – Network, win prizes and learn about what is happening at Cal Poly Pomona. This annual reception will be held at Kellogg House Pomona 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information or to RSVP by June 10, contact the Office of Alumni Affairs at cpalumni@csupomona.edu or call (866) CPP-ALUM.

27th Annual Bronco Golf Classic
June 26 – The 27th annual Bronco Golf Classic, which supports scholarships for student-athletes, will be held at the South Hills Country Club. The field will be limited to the first 144 golfers. For more information, call (909) 869-2810.

Frank Villalobos2006 Distinguished Alumni

Continuing a 46-year tradition of recognizing Distinguished Alumni, nine alumni were honored at a reception and dinner on April 28 at The Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch. $500,000 Keck Grant to Fund State-of-the-Art Experimental Lab
With a $500,000 grant from the W.M. Keck Foundation, Cal Poly Pomona will be creating a state-of-the-art experimental facility in its Center for Macromolecular Modeling and Material Design (CM3D) that will complement its existing computational facility. The new experimental laboratory will provide the equipment necessary for modern experimental science, which has become increasingly interdisciplinary and complex. Read more...

U.S. diplomat and alumnus Jonathan Farrar discussed "Details on the U.S. Foreign Service – an Insider's Perspective" with a group of more than 60 Cal Poly Pomona students, faculty, staff and local elementary school students on April 3 in the Bronco Student Center. Read more...

Business Students Spend Spring Break Teaching Second-Graders in Mexico About Global Markets
During Spring Break, seven members of the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) club in the College of Business traveled to Ixtlan del Rio in Mexico to teach second-grade students at six schools about global markets. Read more...

Summer Quarter 2006 Bigger & Better
Students can expect a "bigger and better" Summer Quarter 2006 with increased course offerings and additional opportunities for financial aid. Projected enrollment for summer is approximately 8,000 students, up from last year's 7,000. Read more...

Mock Trial Teams Place Eighth at National Tournament
Only in its third year, Cal Poly Pomona's Mock Trial team walked away with an eighth-place finish at the American Mock Trial Association Nationals Championship Round in St. Petersburg, Florida, March 10-12. For the first time, two Cal Poly Pomona teams qualified for the national tournament after a strong showing at the Western Regional competition Feb. 18-19. Read more...

Cal Poly Pomona Children's Center Celebrates National Accreditation
The Cal Poly Pomona Children's Center is the first preschool in Pomona to receive accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest organization of early childhood educators dedicated to improving the quality of programs for children.
