Beloved alumnus and campus administrator Ron Simons, also known as “Mr. Cal Poly Pomona,” will be honored in June with an honorary doctorate from the College of Agriculture. Over the next few weeks, there are many cultural and social events on campus and in Southern California. This issue of PolyAlumni spotlights four alumni couples who, in part, credit Cal Poly Pomona in their love stories.

Arabian Horse LibraryArabian Horse Library Opens to Public
"It is my hope that the property that kind Providence has brought me may be helpful to many others, and that I may be found a faithful steward." This quote by W.K. Kellogg graces the entrance hallway to the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library, which opened to the public Wednesday. The library provides a permanent home for the Arabian horse collection, which has been moved from place to place over the years with no dedicated space large enough to hold the entire collection.

Ron SimonsUniversity to Honor Ron Simons With Honorary Doctorate
Ron Simons, whose six-decade affiliation with the university as a student and administrator has rightfully earned him the nickname "Mr. Cal Poly," will soon have a new title. Dr. Ron Simons. Cal Poly Pomona will award him an honorary degree at commencement this spring in recognition of his contributions to the university.
