Markus BohiMarkus Bohi '85 completed his bachelor's degree at Cal Poly Pomona and his MBA from USC in as much time as a typical skateboarder perfects variations of the ollie.

That work ethic and dedication may be how he co-founded and developed one of the top skateboard apparel companies in the United States and abroad.

After graduating with a degree in agriculture in his native Switzerland and serving a short mandatory stint in the Swiss military in the mid-1980s, Bohi spent nine months with a buddy exploring North America. Read more...

The Motor Development Clinic, which is the longest operating community service program at Cal Poly Pomona, began its winter session a few weeks ago. The center thrives because of people like Professor Emeritus Sidney Blumner and his mother Annette Blumner. Over the years they have given more than $100,000 to the clinic and scholarships for students specializing in environmental or urban economics. Read more...

$315,000 Grant Given to Start Supply Chain, Logistics Lab
The Industry Manufacturers Council of the City of Industry and Kent R. Valley of Majestic Realty have given $315,000 to the College of Business Administration, Technology and Operations Management department to spur research and study in the rapidly growing supply chain and logistics technology industry. Library Construction Reaches Milestone
The University Library addition and renovation reached a milestone Monday, Jan. 8, when the last beam was hoisted into place during a topping-off ceremony. The $58.5 million project is more than a year away from being finished, but the low-key ceremony brought about some excitement. Read more...

Governor's Budget Provides $4.3 Billion for California State University
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has proposed a $299.5 million increase for the California State University, which would fully fund the trustees' budget request for 2007-08 based on the Higher Education Compact. The proposed budget provides $3 billion from the state General Fund and $1.3 billion from student fee revenue. Read more...
