Women in Sports Scholarship Luncheon
February 9 In support of women's athletics at Cal Poly Pomona, the Women in Sports Scholarship Luncheon will be held at the Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is a "tennis shoe event" so wear your sport shoes (no metal cleats). Red Cross Blood Drive

Let's cut to the chase: In Southern California where the car is king, Matt Stone has a great gig.
"Yes, there are guys that would push me off a cliff to have my job," says Stone. He's the executive editor of Motor Trend magazine, and that means he gets to read, write and talk about cars all day. And yes, he drives just about any automobile he desires.
"We have a garage here at the office, and you never know what's going to be in it. I drive two or three different cars per week," he says. Read more... |

Annual Fund Callers Raise $50,000 During the Holiday Break
This December, while the rest of the campus community took a break to relax and enjoy the holidays, University Advancement's Annual Fund callers were hard at work raising money for Cal Poly Pomona. In just 13 days, Annual Fund raised $53,640.

Cal Poly Pomona Sets Record Year for
Online Applications
In what marks the sixth straight year of record-setting growth in online applications, 24,457 applications for Cal Poly Pomona admissions were received during the regular fall 2006 open enrollment period between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30. That total represents a 10.3 percent increase over the previous years online applications during the same period. Read more...

Hispanic Outlook Names Cal Poly Pomona as Publisher's Pick
Reflecting the California State University's continuing commitment to educate the best of California's students, 19 CSU campuses have been named as "Publisher's Picks" by Hispanic Outlook In Higher Education. The Publisher's Picks is an annual national list of colleges and universities that the publication sees as having solid records in recruiting, enabling, and graduating Hispanic students. British Columbia Salmon/Halibut Fishing Extravaganza
Based on the four past years of extremely successful fishing off the shores of northern British Columbia Queen Charlotte Islands, another spectacular fishing excursion is being offered through the Cal Poly Pomona Alumni Affairs Office, August 6 to 9. Once again the premium fishing destination will be the Englefield Bay Lodge that is located on the west side of the Queen Charlotte Islands, approximately 600 miles north of Vancouver and 100 miles south of Alaska.
