July/August 2014
In This Issue

We did it! Cal Poly Pomona’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign has raised more than $150 million. Tens of thousands of alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends donated, demonstrating their belief in the transformative power of higher education.

Summer and baseball go hand in hand. Catch up with alumni and friends at two ball games at Angel Stadium. In addition, the annual Shakespeare Festival presents “Julius Caesar” with shows through early October.

This issue of PolyAlumni spotlights 2012 industrial engineering alumna Valeria Ramirez, who has combined her technical expertise with leadership and communication skills.

Ramirez credits the quick start to her career as an industrial engineer at King’s Hawaiian to her involvement and experience at Cal Poly Pomona, where she honed her confidence and leadership skills.
