Celebrate the universityís 75th anniversary at the Fireworks Finale on June 6. Festivities include fireworks, live music, birthday cake, outdoor games and a pool party.

This issue of PolyAlumni spotlights nine alumni who received the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor given by the Alumni Association. This year, an Outstanding Teaching Award was presented to Collins College Professor Dr. Margie Ferree Jones.

2014 Distinguished Alumni recipientsCal Poly Pomona honored nine outstanding graduates with the Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor given by the Alumni Association. The awards program recognizes alumni who demonstrate extraordinary professional achievement, community involvement and service to the university. The first Outstanding Teaching Award was presented to Professor Margie Jones.

May 27 - String Ensemble
Premiere performances of the Cal Poly Pomona Studio Orchestra, directed by Janine Riveire. The concert is at 8 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.

May 31 - ENV Design Alumni & Friends Celebration
Celebrate the closing of another year of accomplishments. ENV alumni and friends are invited to a reception at Huntington Library at 6 p.m. Admission is free and registration is required. Email dswinfield@csupomona.edu.

June 1 - Pan-African Alumni & Student Pre-Graduation Celebration
The African American Student Center and the 2014 Pan-African Graduating Class invite you to the Pan-African Graduation Celebration & Meet and Greet. The event is at 2 p.m. in the BSC.

June 3 - Kellogg Soul Music Ensemble
Music students will perform soul and R&B music. Tickets are $10.

75 Years logoJune 6 - Fireworks Finale for the 75th Anniversary
Enjoy fireworks, live music, a pool party, outdoor games, birthday cake and more at the 75th Anniversary Finale event. The festivities are from 4 p.m. to midnight, with fireworks at 9. Admission is free.

June 13-15 - Commencement
The Class of 2014 takes the stage on June 13-15. Live video of the ceremonies will stream online.
