The Collins College Wine Food & Arts Tour of Northern, Italy

The Collins College and Cal Poly Pomona are hosting the second wine, food and arts tour of Italy to the northern regions of Piedmont, Veneto and Trentino. The tour is led by Dr. Robert Small, emeritus professor and former dean of the Collins College, who led last year’s Collins/Cal Poly Pomona trip to Tuscany. The tour highlights visits to international and small family owned wineries, the Alba White Truffle Festival, cultural and architectural tours of Verona and Padova, cheese class with local cheese expert, a private pizza making class, and meals at distinctive restaurants and wineries.

Day 1:
Saturday, October 13th

 

Depart from Milan Sheraton Malpensa at 9 a.m. for Vigne Regali, Strevi
Tour, tasting and lunch at Vigna Regali
Bus to Monforte d’ Alba, check-in Villa Beccaris, a boutique 4-star hotel

Afternoon free for shopping and resting

Dinner at Osteria dei Catari, Monforte d’ Alba

Day 2:

Truffle Fair and street market, Alba
Shopping in Alba

Tour of Verona
Dinner at Bottega del Vino, the most famous wine bar in Italy

Depart for Trentino at 9 a.m.
Tour, tasting and lunch at Alois Lageder Winery
