All individuals are welcomed to be a part of the Sociology Club. However, if a student chooses to pursue membership with AKD International Honors Society certain requirements must be met.

Undergraduates: Must be sociology majors or demonstrate a seriuos interest in sociology within an official program of a host institution with a chartered chapter of the Society. Students must:

• Have at least 90 units
• Rank in the top 35% of their class
• Have an overall GPA of at least 3.0
• Have a sociology GPA of at least 3.0
• Have taken at least four courses in sociology
• Have participated in 4 community service events, 4 fundraising events, and 6 general meetings
• Pay a sum of 40.00 to AKD National Chapter Office

Graduate Students: Must

• Have completed at least one-half year of graduate study in sociology
• Graduate grade-point average of 'B' or better
• Continued matriculation in a graduate degree in sociology at the host institution
