Biography:

Professor Hess was born and raised in Fullerton, Ca. Upon graduating from Fullerton Union High School, Hess went to Mt. San Antonio College, and then continued his education at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he received a B.S. in Agricultural Science, the Single Subject and the Specialist Teaching Credential in agriculture, and an M.S. in Agriculture.  Professor Hess taught high school agriculture in both Riverside and San Diego counties prior to taking an agricultural education position with the Orange County Fair and Exposition Center (OCF&EC).   Professor Hess left OCF&EC to pursue doctoral studies in Agricultural Science Education at the University of California, Davis, in preparation of becoming a university agriculture and teacher educator. Professor Hess is currently an assistant professor and program coordinator for Agricultural Science and Education at Cal Poly Pomona. Professor Hess has been with Cal Poly Pomona since July, 2006.
