Our agriculture sector is faced with providing solutions to the world’s grand challenges. At CalPoly Pomona we are committed to preparing our students to make a difference, wherever their careers take them; stretching the frontiers of science to find solutions and helping the people of California, the nation and the world improve their lives and livelihoods.
Our focus is to provide students a high quality, affordable education that will give hands-on experiences in the exciting fields in the food, fiber, fuel, and feed industries. The Cal Poly Pomona “learn by doing” approach, provides skills and knowledge to prepare our students to confidently think big.
The food, fiber, fuel, and feed industries are huge sectors providing diverse and dynamic career paths. Agricultural jobs are high tech and often high touch jobs that pay well and provide an opportunity for personal growth and career advancement.
Our campus is nestled among urban areas and we provide the only four-year agricultural program in southern California. We operate a 700 acre farm on campus that is surrounded by three freeways and 13 million people. Our location is unique, providing opportunities to experience the vibrancy of the city and the calm of growing food in our citrus and avocado groves, or watching animals being born through our foal watch, among many other hands-on experiences.
Our College has recorded 75 years of excellence. As we look forward to building on that legacy for the next 75 years, we will continue to build on our traditional strengths and push the envelope of new, exciting opportunities.
