Members of the College of Agriculture participate in a variety of professional, public and civic activities to strengthen the college’s relationship with industry and the public sector. Some of these alliances include the following:
California Agricultural Leadership Program
Cal Poly Pomona, through the College of Agriculture, is one of four universities in the state which participate in the California Agriculture Leadership Program. Under the auspices of the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation, the Program consists of a series of seminars and travel experiences designed to broaden the perspectives of selected mid-career agricultural professionals who have demonstrated leadership potential. Participants complete the program with a greater capacity to accept leadership responsibility in any part of society. For more information, contact the Dean of the College of Agriculture.

U.S. Department of Agriculture – E. (Kika) de la Garza Fellowship Program
College of Agriculture faculty have been accepted to this program which offers faculty and staff from Hispanic Serving Institutions the opportunity to work collaboratively with the USDA to gain insight and understanding of the federal government. This uniquely tailored experience brings together HSI staff and federal executives to address the spectrum of challenges faced in the development of a well prepared Hispanic workforce. Fellows spend two to four weeks in Washington, D.C. to increase their understanding of USDA and other federal agencies, particularly at the national level, and be able to identify mutual collaborative interests. Cal Poly faculty have also served as advisors in this program.
