Commencement

University Quad

General Information

  • The ceremony will be at the University Quad in front of the Campus Center Marketplace.
  • Line-up will begin at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Line-up on the sidewalk between Bldgs. 5 & 8. Please line up by department according to your major (banners will designate your department).
  • You will be given a white card with your name on it. Please check the mailing address on the card and print your name phonetically. Also, be sure to include your e-mail address. This card will assist the people who are announcing the names. Carry the card with you and it will be collected as you approach the stage to receive your certificate.
  • At the time of the procession graduates will proceed to the seating area, following behind their department faculty. There will be a bottle of cold water under your seat.
  • When it is time to walk to the stage, ushers will assist you. While your name is being read you will cross the stage and be handed a certificate. Place the certificate in your left hand and shake hands with President Ortiz, Dean Young, and your Department Chair. Graduate students will be hooded on stage prior to receiving their certificates. You will exit the front of the stage and return to your seat.

Caps & Gowns

Caps and Gowns will be available for purchase beginning April 24th at the Bronco Bookstore. The cost for a bachelor's is $39.95 and for a master's complete $59.95 subject to change, plus tax.

Honors Cords

Gold honor cords will be available from the Registrar's Office in the CLA Bldg. (98) after May 26, 2010. Green honor cords for Gamma Sigma Delta initiates will be available for pick up in the Dean's Office (Bldg. 2, Room 216) beginning June 1st. There is no charge for the honor cords.

Parking

Parking for graduates and guests will be in Lot J. There will be a $5.00 parking fee if paid for in advance. Parking will be $10.00 if purchased on commencement day.. If you need a map of the campus to send to your invited guests, they are available online at www.csupomona.edu/visitors. Disabled & Elderly Guests: parking and seating is available on a "first come, first serve" basis. No placards or reservations are required. Commencement personnel and signage will direct guests to the designated parking and seating. Please order before May 31st to ensure a timely arrival.

Seating

There will be no reserved seating, however, ample seating will be available. There will be a designated area for handicapped seating. Disabled/elderlys seating is limited to the disabled and elderly and one additional guest only. Deaf or Hard of Hearing guests requesting interpreting services must contact Gina Dravis at the Disability Resource Center, (909) 869-5359 or rmdravis@csupomona.edu.

Bronco Bookstore Grad Fair
