You’ll have opportunities to do research, special projects and internships that get you in front of prospective employers. Our graduates are in demand because of their practical career preparation.

Unique centers and facilities
When you visit the homepage for each major, you’ll see links to unique facilities. For example, Animal Science has the Arabian Horse Center and the Meat Lab. Apparel has two micro-businesses run by students, and a technology research center. Plant Science has 40,000 square feet of state-of-the-art greenhouses.

Get the support you need
A huge percentage of our students live at home and/or work. But we don’t feel like a commuter college. Our accessible faculty members go the extra mile to help students succeed. We’re small enough to give personal attention. The atmosphere is friendly, not cut-throat competitive.

The beginning of the New Millennium is developing a bright sunrise for the College of Interim Dean Les YoungAgriculture. Over the past few years we have undergone a transformation from a small production based college into a more modern, urban inclusive college of agriculture. The inclusion of the food industry, as part of our corporate base, has enabled the college to embrace everything, literally, from the farm to the plate. more

Enjoy our open spaces
Drive onto campus and you’re in another world with wide open spaces, close to animals and nature. Horses from our world famous W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Farm graze in green pastures. Prize livestock, from cattle to goats, roam 1,400 acres. Crops flourish in farmland. Agriscapes showcases the latest in sustainable agriculture. Plant Science students keep the campus blooming.

Get involved in the community
Student and cat provide pet therapy at hospital There are all kinds of opportunities to help. The pet therapy program raises the spirits of hospital patients. Food Science and Plant Science team up to deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to underserved neighborhoods. The pumpkin festival is an annual community tradition.
