Music Department Honors Dr. Phillip Clarke

October 10 – A piano benefit honoring recently retired Dr. Phillip Clarke and his 22-year teaching career at Cal Poly Pomona will include performances by music students, alumni and faculty. All proceeds will benefit the piano program.

Each fall, the music department hosts a performance to raise funds for the piano program. This year, the benefit is dedicated to Dr. Phillip Clarke, who retired from Cal Poly Pomona after the 2003-04 year. Clarke had a profound influence on students, faculty and staff during the 22 years he taught at the university. In past years, he had directed these benefit performances, which he initiated five years ago. Music majors and alumni, as well as faculty, will perform at this special benefit.
