Alum Gives Back to College of Business Administration

Kathy TullyWhen Kathy Tully (’76 marketing management and ’80 master of business administration) moved from Florida to California to pursue a college degree, she believed life would be better for her on the West Coast. At the time, she had $1,000 in savings and a trunk modestly filled with the bare necessities.

Tully’s life in California has more than exceeded her expectations. She is senior vice president and wealth advisor for Morgan Stanley and is continually listed among the top 10 percent of financial advisors for the company. Read more...

Donor's Gift Supports College of Business Administration

Mike Entzminger speaking to a business class.Alumnus and businessman Michael Entzminger has pledged $50,000 to support the new College of Business Administration complex. In gratitude, a department office will be named the Mach 1 International Business and Marketing Department Suite, after the international freight company Entzminger (’76, marketing management) founded in 1988.

“Cal Poly Pomona was a beautiful fit for me with the class sizes and the opportunities for hands-on learning,” Entzminger says. “Now, I’m trying to give back to the institution that was so wonderful to me.” Read more...

Benefactors Pledge $210,000 toward CBA

Mickey and Lee SegalLongtime benefactors Mickey and Lee Segal have pledged an additional $210,000 toward the College of Business Administration complex, bringing their total support of the state-of-the-art facility to more than half a million dollars.

Marty EvansonCollege of Agriculture alumnus Marty Evanson has pledged $100,000 through a bequest to support an endowed scholarship for animal science students.

Evanson (’63, animal husbandry) says he believes in giving back, and the Martin J. Evanson Endowed Scholarship will help an undergraduate who demonstrates financial need. Read more...

Alum's Gift to Help Landscape Architecture Students

Michael & Yetta ChuEvery day, Hawaiians can see landscape architect Michael Chu’s designs and creativity in the newest Lowe’s home improvement store, seven Costco locations, and – Chu’s favorite – the renovated Hawaii State Library.

Planned Ways to Make a Difference in Students' Lives

After Barbara Jean Bruin’s mother passed away, the Collins College faculty member and her husband, Marcel, realized they needed a plan for their own assets.

“You could die perfectly healthy, and you should plan for what to do with your resources. If you have a passion, I believe you should give back to that passion,” she says. “I wanted to make sure that if something happens to me or Marcel that everything we have worked for wasn’t for nothing.” Read more...

Gift Provides Cutting-Edge Cyber Security Technology
