Hello, my name is April McKettrick and I work here
on campus in Studio Six. Located on the 6th floor of the CLA (classroom
side), we are a high-end multimedia lab, opened to faculty, staff,
and students. I am working toward a Fine Arts degree in Graphic
Design so I try to take two classes a quarter. I love online classes,
because of the flexibility. My greatest role in life is as a single
mom raising two sons. Michael is a freshman at San Dimas High and
Justin is in Middle School and will be turning 13 this year. My
passion is photography and I was the campus photographer for 5 years
during which time I traveled to the Middle East and West Africa
on photo assignments. Lately, my spare time has been spent meeting
my entire birth family that I recently discovered using the internet
for a speech project in my COM 100 class! This weekend I’m
taking my two sons to Las Vegas to meet the rest of the family who
will be there watching my half brother race – turns out he’s
an NHRA funny car driver!
My name is Natalie Huang, I am a sophomore at Cal
Poly. My major is Kinesiology: Allied Health. I plan on attending
Chiropractic College in fall of this year. Although I am not graduating
I will obtain my bachelor’s degree at the same time I receive
my doctor’s degree. It will be tough, but on the bright side
I’ll be a doctor by the time I’m 22. I live in Chino
Hills Right now, so it takes me about 15 minutes to get to Cal Poly.
I’m carrying 35 quarter units so I do not have much free time.
But, when I do have free time I like to sleep, play basketball,
go clubbing, or just hang out with friends or family. The reason
I am taking this class is to get a lot of units and fulfill my 135
quarter prerequisite for Chiropractic College, but after this quarter
I get the whole summer off. ;)
My name is Teresa Li. I am a business major, and
this is my fourth year. I will be graduating in this summer, officially.
I come from Hong Kong and currently living in Los Angeles, which
could be a long drive to Cal Poly when there is traffic. I chose
to come to Cal Poly because I like the environment around the campus.
It looks relaxing and has less crowded and tall buildings. It makes
me feel fresh. I am planning to go back to Hong Kong for work after
I graduated. I am a full time student and also working part time.
I work for the Los Angeles School District. I am a teacher aid and
mainly work with Pre-K kids who are about 4 to 5 years old. I enjoy
teaching and playing with my students, although they could get handful
sometimes. In working with the kids, I have learnt how to control
my temper and emotion and have more patience. I also like little
children because they are so innocent
My name is Kristine Llave. I am a communications
major with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. I am in my third
year at Cal Poly. I am hoping that I graduate next year. I want
to finish college in four years. Right now, it is a realistic goal
but not a definite thing. I’m not sure what I want to do after
college maybe work for a magazine or a news station or maybe even
a business. I am originally from Hollywood. I am the oldest of three
girls. We live in Hollywood with our parents and our grandparents.
The coolest thing is that my apartment complex is filled with relatives
every unit is occupied by an aunt, uncle, or cousin of some sort.
I have a very close-knit family. Currently, I live in an apartment
in San Dimas with two of my roommates/best friends.
My name is Patrick Santos. I love long walks, I love
reading poetry, I love puppies, and I would love to meet somebody
to watch the sunset with. I’m a 3rd year accounting major
I’m planning to change my major to nursing though. I’m
planning to move to another school after this quarter. I was born
in the Philippines and I just got here in America about 6 years
ago. I am proud of being Filipino. In a way being a Filipino dictates
who I am. I love to listen to every genre of music. I love to listen
to Motown like The Platters, or to Mr. Al green. And I also love
to listen to shock rock like Alice Cooper or Marilyn Manson. I love
to listen to reggae like Mr. Bob Marley. Well to me life is like
music there will be times where sad songs is the main theme of your
life or sometime fast and happy song could be the theme. Is really
depends on how you feel at the time I guess.
Hi, My name is Xi Lu and this is my last quarter
at Cal-Poly. I will be graduating with a finance degree. I don't
know what i'll be doin after i graduate so i'll be probably just
ne looking for a job like most people. This is my second AG class
and I liked the 1st class I took so I wanted to take another AG
class. I live in San Gabriel and I have an older sister who also
graduated from Cal-Poly with a finance degree. For recreational
I like to play basketball and video games.
