VR

 

 
For my final project, I opted to create a QuickTime Virtual Reality movie (also known as a VR). The uniqueness of this project however is my desire to add directional sound to my VR. I ventured to Laguna Beach, one of my favorite places in the world. To catch all of the ambient sound in my surroundings, I took with me a sophisticated sound capturing sound as well as a Nikon D1 digital camera and a VR tripod to capture the exact shots.

After a few hours of content gathering, I edited my video in Final Cut Pro, compressing it in Cleaner 6 before outputting to QuickTime. I took the individual photographs and stitched them together using QuickTime Virtual Reality Authoring Studio. The finished pano was then imported into SoundSaVR where the audio files were added to create the directional sound.
