Learn how to create documents that are easier to understand and accessible for everyone. These workshops are designed to demonstrate how easy it is to incorporate accessibility into your current Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoints, and Web pages.
Accessibility Awareness and Hands-On Training Workshop for Faculty |
This 3 hour learning-centered workshop covers creating accessible course materials in Word, Excel, PDF, and Powerpoint. Participants should already have existing knowledge of how to create Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point documents. Each participant will receive an Adobe Acrobat v.8 license for their workstation. |

ATI Overview – Challenges & Solutions |
Discover the aspects and timelines of the Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI). Describe what makes something accessible and inaccessible. Discuss solutions for improving accessibility. |

Making Accessible Word Documents |
Learn the essentials to creating accessible Microsoft Word documents. Participants should already have existing knowledge of how to create Microsoft Word documents. |

Making Accessible PDF Documents |
This session will cover "optical character recognition" in Adobe Acrobat, "document tags", alternate text for images & converting Word files to accessible PDF documents. Participants should already have existing knowledge of how to create Microsoft Word documents. Each participant will receive an Adobe Acrobat v.8 license for their workstation. |

Making Accessible PDF Forms |
In this session, you'll explore the basic issues with web accessibility in PDF forms. Participants should already have existing knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and the creation of accessible Word documents. Each participant will receive an Adobe Acrobat v.8 license for their workstation. |

Making Accessible Power Point Documents |
Discover how to make your PowerPoint presentations accessible. Learn the elements of designing a PowerPoint presentation that effectively communicates your course content while remaining accessible to all users. Participants should already have existing knowledge of PowerPoint software. Please bring an electronic copy of PowerPoint presentation that you can use for the class exercise. |

Making Accessible Web Pages with Contribute |
Learn the power of the web for making content available to the greatest number of people. In this session, you'll explore the basic issues with web accessibility, and learn how to address them. Each participant will receive an Adobe Contribute CS3 license for their workstation. |

Making Accessible Web Forms |
In this session, you'll explore the basic issues with web accessibility in web-based forms. Participants should already have existing knowledge of Dreamweaver software. |

| Making Accessible Excel Spread Sheets | In this session, you'll explore basic issues with web accessibility in Microsoft Excel. Participants should already have existing knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the creation of Excel spread sheets. |

As noted above, workshops will not provide in-depth training on Word, Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Contribute but they will provide an in-depth look at features related to improving accessibility.
