Microcomputer Proficiency Test

MPT (Microcomputer Proficiency Test)

A passing score on the MPT exempts students from taking CIS 101 or CE 210/L.

The MPT is administered Monday - Friday at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on a first come first serve basis in the Test Center, CLA Building (98-P2-004).

To take the test, you must arrive at least 30 minutes early.

Special circumstance may require the closing of the room on an as need basis. Please call one business day in advance to confirm the test will be offered.

A $10 fee is charged for the test.

The MPT consists of three separate sections in Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).

You must pass each section with a score 70% or higher.

Out of State Testing

If you live outside the state of California, been accepted to a CSU campus, and need to take the EPT or ELM test in your state, e-mail csuout-of-state@ets.org or phone (925) 808-2142. Out-of-state testing is arranged for the second week of the month. There is a fee of $50 for testing outside of California.
