Interpretation of Test Scores for Course Placement
Enroll in the following courses when you receive your test scores:
English Placement Test
For students beginning in Summer 2008 or later
Placement into Sequence Designed for
Native English Speakers
EPT Score Course Placement 120 -141 ENG 095 142 - 146 ENG 096 147+ ENG 104 or IGE 120
Placement into English Sequence Designed for Those with
English as a Second Language
EPT Score Course Placement 120 - 129 ENG 098 130 - 146 ENG 099 147+ ENG 102 and ENG 103
If your EPT score is below 147, you must enroll in English in your first quarter of attendance. For further information, please call the English and Foreign Languages Department, (909) 869-3940.
Out of State Testing
If you live outside the state of California, been accepted to a CSU campus, and need to take the EPT or ELM test in your state, e-mail csuout-of-state@ets.org or phone (925) 808-2142. Out-of-state testing is arranged for the second week of the month. There is a fee of $50 for testing outside of California.
