The ELM is not an admission test. The ELM is a placement test that will enable your CSU campus to find out whether you need remedial courses in mathematics before undertaking college level work requiring these fundamental skills. This is why you must take the ELM before enrollment in the CSU.
If you live outside the state of California, been accepted to a CSU campus, and need to take the EPT or ELM test in your state, e-mail csuout-of-state@ets.org or phone (925) 808-2142. Out-of-state testing is arranged for the second week of the month. There is a fee of $50 for testing outside of California.
