ART DEPARTMENT
The Art Department at California State Polytechnic University , Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for 3 tenure-track position in Graphic Design at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin Fall 2008. We are seeking exceptional designers with a strong commitment to teaching who demonstrate outstanding use of typography and knowledge of design theory.
The Position: Responsibilities will include teaching sophomore through senior level Graphic Design majors. Teaching assignment includes 18 contact hours per week plus 5 advising contact hours. Teaching requirement may include upper division web-design and/or motion graphics design courses. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and service.

The College: The mission of the College of Environmental Design is to provide an outstanding academic and professional learning experience within a multidisciplinary structure. The College philosophy embodies a passion for creative excellence, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility in each of the College's departments. The College of Environmental Design is one of eight colleges at California State Polytechnic University , Pomona (CSPU) and was established in 1970. The College offers professional degree programs at the graduate level in Regenerative Studies; at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban and Regional Planning; and at the undergraduate level in Graphic Design. The college also offers an undergraduate degree in Art with options in Art History and Fine Arts.
The Department: The Art Department , fully accredited by NASAD, offers a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in Art, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (B.F.A.) in Graphic Design. The Department is the largest in the college and currently has 11 full-time faculty members’ plus 6-10 adjunct faculty; departmental majors number approximately 600. The department maintains a large slide library with a collection of up-to-date, high quality slides, digital images, as well as film and video resources.
