The Landscape Architecture Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2008.

The Department recognizes the serious challenges facing humankind in the 21st century: Rapidly expanding population pressures in the context of finite, non-renewable resources; and an increasingly multicultural society. As the only fully-accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the Los Angeles region, the Department is in a unique position to utilize this exciting and dynamic laboratory to examine issues, patterns and processes that will become prevalent in many parts of the world during this century. To this end, the Department has adopted an ambitious vision of "Re-Generating Los Angeles" as it seeks to be a center of creative excellence in landscape architecture, internationally recognized for communicating values of ecological and social sustainability to students and the community.

The Positions:

It is expected that scholarship will integrate into topic studios and support the department’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. Teaching opportunities exist at both the graduate and undergraduate level, with potential for teaching or collaborating on research and outreach with the John T. Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies.
