MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The Mechanical Engineering Department at California State Polytechnic University , Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for full time tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin Fall 2008.
The Position: The Department has multiple tenure-track positions available at either the assistant or associate professor level for individuals with abilities to teach courses in the areas of Mechanical Engineering with expertise in Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Solar Energy, Material Science, Instrumentation, Machine Design (including Solid Modeling, FEA, and materials behavior), Control Systems Engineering, Energy Systems and Thermal and Fluid systems. The candidate will be responsible to develop the infrastructure for one laboratory in the aforementioned areas. The candidate must be able to teach a majority of the core courses offered in the department, including courses from the freshman through the graduate level.

The Department: The Mechanical Engineering Department serves approximately 1100 undergraduate and graduate students in the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering programs. The Department and University have a “learn by doing” philosophy.
