FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
PART-TIME TEMPORARY LECTURERS
QUALIFICATIONS: An earned MA from an accredited institution is required prior to employment; Ph.D. or comparable terminal degree is preferred. We seek to recruit teacher-scholars committed to undergraduate education, innovative pedagogy and a diverse community. Disciplinary training may be in any field relevant to IGE's learning outcomes: communication skills and critical thinking, historical and social consciousness, multicultural understanding, articulation of values, understanding of aesthetic expression, and active student learning. Expertise in American Studies, race and ethnicity, native/indigenous peoples, social movements and/or cultural studies desirable.

THE IGE DEPARTMENT. The Interdisciplinary General Education program provides an innovative alternative to the traditional distributive GE curriculum. Since 1993 IGE has offered an outcomes-based, learning community program designed to promote active learning through discussion, role play, group projects, field trips and other hands-on activities. The 8-course IGE sequence satisfies 32 units of lower division humanities and social science general education requirements. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND INTEGRATIVE STUDIES (CEIS). Through its undergraduate, teacher preparation and graduate programs, CEIS educates men and women for leadership roles in a diverse and changing society, and to address the complex issues that confront communities in working towards a creative, just and democratic society.
