Early Assessment Program

The Early Assessment Program (EAP) is a joint effort of the CSU, the California Department of Education, and the State Board of Education to smooth the transition from K-12 to higher education and to prepare students early to succeed in college. EAP provides an early signal to high school officials, students, and families as to whether the 11th grader will be exempt from taking the English and mathematics placement tests upon admission to a CSU campus.

Early Start Summer 2014

We are glad that you have chosen Cal Poly Pomona to pursue your college education. You have most likely been directed to this page, because you have been identified as not having satisfied proficiency requirements in English and /or Mathematics. Incoming freshmen who demonstrate a remedial need in English and/or mathematics must begin remediation in the summer (CSU Policy on remediation - EO 665). Participation in the Early Start program is mandatory. Failure to enroll 2014 can result in disenrollment for students who do not have an exemption. You will not be able to register for any course(s) Fall 2014. CPP has created a program of summer offerings to ensure that you are not only in compliance with the Chancellor's mandate but that you are also making progress with your preparatory classes.

Pre College TRIO programs

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona University Strategic Plan, the Pre College TRIO programs strive to produce high‐quality programing and activities that respond to the needs of the region. In addition, the programs focus on continually expanding community access to postsecondary education opportunities, particularly for disadvantaged and non‐traditional students. The success of these programs has distinguished Cal Poly Pomona as one of the few campuses in the nation to host six precollege TRIO programs.
