WASC is Coming...Are We Ready?

The WASC Visiting Team is coming to campus October 8 - 10, 2008

The new WASC accreditation process involves three integrated and sequenced stages to support and promote educational and institutional effectiveness: Stage 1: The Institutional Proposal; Stage 2: the Capacity and Preparatory Review; and Stage 3: the Educational Effectiveness Review.

Cal Poly Pomona has successfully completed the first stage and is now preparing for its Capacity and Preparatory Review visit.  The report was delivered to WASC on July 14, 2008, and the site visit is scheduled for October 8-10, 2008.

What you can do to prepare. . .

• Understand the WASC process and its purpose (PDF, 650 KB)
• Understand the elements of our WASC Capacity and Preparatory Review Report
• Familiarize yourself with the acronyms and other technical terms used by WASC (PDF)
• Participate in the Fall Conference conversation on Monday, September 22, 2-3pm in the BSC, Ursa Major
• Plan to be on campus October 8 – 10, 2008

What we are doing to prepare. . .

The WASC Steering Committee and subcommittees have made / are making campus presentations to educate, inform, consult with and engage campus constituents in topics related to capacity and preparatory review and educational effectiveness.
