The Twenty-First Annual California State University Student Research Competition was held on May 4th and May 5th at CSU Dominguez Hills, which promotes excellence in undergraduate and graduate scholarly research and creative activity by recognizing outstanding student accomplishments throughout 23 CSU campuses. The Department of Research and Graduate Studies is proud to announce that three Cal Poly Pomona students participated in this event: Christian Abratte, Nutrition Science; Meilen Chang Munoz, Biology; and Anotoly A. Yakovlev, Electrical Engineering. Munoz’s project entitled “Protection of BALB/c Mice against Challenge with Influenza Virus Following Vaccination with H1N1 or H1N1 and H5N1 Liposomal M2 Vaccine (L-M2)” was a runner-up for first place. Yakovlev’s project entitled “High Resolution Signal Direction of Arrival Estimation Based on Eigen-Analysis Methods” was also a runner-up for first place. Congratulations to all three students.
The first meeting of the 2007 Provost's Teacher Scholars was held on May 8, 2007 at the AGRIscapes facility. The participants enjoyed a great BBQ and shared background information with each other. Photographs of the event.

The PI reception was held May 1, 2007 at the Kellogg Mansion to honor Cal Poly Pomona faculty and staff who participate as Principal Investigators on grant proposals for external funding.
