Help - Finding Articles From A Citation

If you have a bibliographic citation for an article, or if you just want to browse through issues of a particular journal, magazine, or newspaper use the Library Catalog to see if the library has the journal, magazine or newspaper.

The Library Catalog on the Libraray Homepage

You will use the title of the journal or magazine from the citation. (Not the title of the article!)   Citation from the Journal of Experimental Fenicolgy with the name of the journal circled

When in the catalog, click on the "Title" tab, type in the title of the journal, and change the pull down to "Search Periodicals/Newspapers" and click the "Submit" button.   Title search for the journal of experimental fenicology

In the catalog record for a periodical, look for entries that match the year or volume you are seeking. There can be:

(1) a link to an electronic version (along with the years of coverage) and:

(2) a statement of what years, volumes and physical formats we hold of that journal (the plus signs indicate a continuing subscription) and

(3) what formats, floors and call numbers are associated with our holdings here in the building.

If you are clicking on a link to a full text or electronic version, you may have to have a library PIN/Password if you are accessing it from off campus.
