Gifts in Kind

The Library is happy to accept gifts in the form of books or other library materials, or equipment, software or hardware.

All materials under consideration for addition to the Library’s collection [whether the item is to be purchased or is being offered as a donation], are first reviewed by a subject specialty bibliographer to determine appropriateness to the University’s curriculum. The bibliographer will consider whether the item satisfies a current or expected curriculum demand, is essential for overall collection development, enhances an extant special collection, or possesses definite research potential which will encourage independent study projects or use by visiting scholars. Faculty, librarians, and other subject experts will be consulted as necessary

Gifts of special or unique collections equipment, software and hardware are accepted upon review for fit with the teaching mission of the university.

Due to space limitations, the Library's perpetual fund raising event, the Used Book Sale, has been suspended indefinitely during the Library Addition/Expansion Building project.

For information on how you can give a gift in kind to the Library, please contact Cheryl Meaux, Assistant to the Dean for Development / Community Outreach, at 909/869-3086.
