Broncos Stopped By The Rain

Championship match cancelled by Sunday morning showers

POMONA -- Cal Poly Pomona's men's tennis team didn't get an opportunity to build upon the momentum it gained from a victory over UC Davis on Saturday.

Instead, Sunday morning rain showers caused the cancellation of the California Invitational championship match between Cal Poly Pomona and UC San Diego. The two teams will be considered tournament co-champions.

In addition, matches between Colorado School of Mines and Cal State L.A. and Northern Colorado and Sonoma State were also washed out. UC Davis edged Azusa Pacific, 5-4, in the third-place match. The Aggies won all three doubles sets and two of the six singles matches to win the only match played on Sunday.
