About us... |
| Bio-Sci is a biological club at Cal Poly Pomona. This club has been in existence for several years and Dr. David Campbell was the former Advisor for these years. Recently Dr. David Campbell passed down his advisor position to an assistant professor, Dr. Joan Leong. Dr. Leong is teaching at Cal Poly Pomona for three years. Bio-Sci currently has about sixty members and the club is increasing at a nice rate. This organization is here to better the educational experiences for the students at Cal Poly Pomona, by having students participate in out of school trips, meaning they will get together with both students and faculties, meet new students of both science and non-science majors and most importantly is to have fun. As of now, Bio-Sci has a great team of officers who are very enthusiastic about the club and everyone is dedicating most of their time into the club.

Officers |
| President - Brian Thai |
As president of Cal Poly Pomona’s Biological Sciences Club, I, along with the other officers, work to improve the quality, image, and prestige of the organization. This work is achieved through the dedication and unifying attitudes that all officers and members bring to the club. We strongly feel that teamwork is the best way to overcome challenges, encourage involvement, and provide an atmosphere for new ideas. As such, my role as president is not merely one of an elected leader, but rather that of a mediator and guide to ensure that our club continues to prosper in the future.
On a more personal note, however, I am an individual who enjoys being involved in activities and having fun. In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, eating a good meal, and being around friends and family |

| Vice President - Benji Tieu |
|
Welcome everyone to BioSci website for the year term of 2002-2003. My name is Benji Tieu and I am the vice-president of BioSci and I am very proud to be working with a group of young and enthusiastic students that are willing to work together and help each other during their years at Cal Poly Pomona. First of all, I would like to thank everyone for making this year happen. I, along with all the officers of BioSci will work together to make this year a memorable year. We are here not to conquer any quest or award but we are here to help all students and hoping to share their experiences in life. As the vice president I will work closely with BioSci officers and members to have lots of fun to relief ourselves from stress because as we all know midterms, and finals aren’t easy to deal with. We are not looking to move you or convince you to join BioSci, but we are looking to make you realize that getting through college alone isn’t easy. Last but not least I would like to thank all my friends that have been there for me through thick and thin. I couldn’t have gone this far without them. You guys are the greatest man. “I love you man!”

| Secretary - Brenda Gonzalez |
|
I am currently the Secretary of Bio-Sci. My job as a officer in Bio-Sci is
just doing many of the typical work that Secretaries do and I also work
together with all the officers in trying to make Bio-Sci the most known club
on campus. To me, I believe that all the officers are very involve in the
club and we work very well together and I consider eveyone a family rather
than just officers. I hope to see alot of new faces joining the club because
I believe that the members are the reason I am a Secretary.

| Treasurer
- Brandon King |
|
My name is Brandon King and I am the treasurer of the Bio Sci club for the
2002-2003 year. I am a biology major, in my super senior year at Cal Poly.
My ultimate career goal is something, anything, in the medical field.
Unquestionably, my favorite hobby/activity is visiting, reading about,
watching videos on, etc., amusement and theme parks. I'll admit that it's
something of an obsession. I have all the season passes from So Cal, and
another of my life's goals is to ride every single roller coaster in the
United States. I'm off to a pretty good start.
As treasurer of Bio Sci this year, I will be in charge of the big
bucks. Working with the other officers and all of our dedicated members, I
hope to make this a great year for the club! |

| Commissioner of Activities - Albert Gonzales |
|
I am the Commisioner of Activity and I plan to work together with the other
officers to better Bio-Sci. Within these few months, I heard many
interesting and exciting things that will be happening for Bio-Sci and I am
very excited in working with all these wonderful officers to plan meetings,
trips and work together with the members in making Bio-Sci the "BEST" club
on campus. As of now, I am currently working with a project called BioTrek,
which has been going on for several years. This will be my last year at Cal
Poly Pomona, where I will be getting a B.S. degree in Biology. As a result,
I think Bio-Sci will add to my last and interest year as a undergrad at Cal
Poly Pomona.

| Commissioner of Activities - David Huynh |
|
I am the commisioner of activities, I was given the chance to work with all these officers for the year 2002-2003. This year, I plan to work side-by-side with all the officers especially the commisioner of events and activities. The first thing I plan to do for Bio-Sci is to get the involvement of all the members and know what everyone wants and hope to do. So, I think because of my chance of being a officers, I will add to my college life. With all the officers to make this one of the best year for BioSci. In addition, I know that I will benifit from being on the E-Board for Bio-Sci because I get to me new people and pretty much get to enjoy college life. I enjoy long walks on the beach and on my spare time, I like to go out and have fun with my friends. I also love to play sport, especailly basketball

Hello! My name is Shinobu and I am majoring in zoology. As a super senior,
I've gotten to know the campus pretty well but being a part of the BioSci club
has made my long and continuing journey towards graduation worthwhile. As the

| Science Council Representative - Jaime Yee |
|
Major: Biology
Goals: To become a bigger nerd than I already am.
I am the Science Council Representative of Bio Sci and I have maintained my
status as a senior at Cal Poly for longer than normal; I will probably
continue doing so for who knows how long. Currently I'm still completely
undecided of what I should do for the rest of my life so I'm trying a bit of
everything. My first priority on my "things to do list" is get money for
future activities planned out by our amazing club. |
